When I look back at my healing journey, there is one thing that stands out as a major factor: atmosphere. I firmly believe there is a correlation between putting yourself in the right environment to receive a miracle.
Healing—especially miraculous healing—is not just about medicine, the food you eat, or good doctors. It’s about positioning yourself spiritually, mentally, and emotionally to receive what God has already promised.
One of the books that deeply impacted me during my cancer journey was “Healing the Sick” by T.L. Osborn. It was a game-changer. That book reinforced the truth that Jesus is our healer and that miracles didn’t stop in Bible times—they are available to us today!
Each of us need to be reminded that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. So what happened in Bible times can surely happen today! When you read a book like this, it moves your faith to a whole new level and you realize your miracle is there for the taking.
4 Keys to Realizing Your Healing Miracle
1. Faith Comes by Hearing
The Bible says in Romans 10:17, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
This verse was foundational for me in my healing journey. I realized that what I consistently listened to would either build my faith or weaken it. So, I became intentional about what filled my ears and heart.
So often this is something that many people overlook and don’t see value in… but it is one of the important keys that will help unlock your healing.
I spent hours reading God’s Word, listening to sermons, and playing the Bible on audio. Worship music became my constant to have on in the background at all times. I wasn’t interested in television, movies, or anything that didn’t strengthen my spirit. In fact, I didn’t even learn how to use the remote control! That’s how serious I was about keeping my atmosphere filled with faith.
It is something that has to be a very intentional choice you make each day when you wake up.
2. The Power of Your Words
Another crucial part of my healing journey was learning the power of my words.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” What we speak matters. Words carry creative power.
I became extremely careful about what came out of my mouth. I didn’t allow myself to say things like, “I’ll never get better” or “This sickness is too much for me.” Instead, I declared healing over my body. I spoke life, even when my circumstances seemed to say otherwise.
3. Guarding Your Atmosphere
Not only do we have to guard what we listen to and what we say, but we also have to be mindful of the people we allow into our atmosphere. There were moments in my healing journey when I had to isolate myself from negative influences. Sometimes, isolation is key to receiving a miracle.
If I surrounded myself with people who spoke doubt, fear, or unbelief, it would have drained my faith. Instead, I chose to stay around faith-filled people who would stand with me in prayer and believe for my miracle alongside me.
One scripture that I held onto was Mark 9:24: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” I must have prayed that a thousand times over. I knew that even in moments of doubt, God could strengthen my faith.
4. Doctor Jesus Has the Final Say
While I am thankful for earthly doctors and the wisdom God has given them, I always reminded myself that Doctor Jesus had the final say.
The Bible declares in Isaiah 53:5, “By His stripes we are healed.” That wasn’t just a nice verse to me—it was a promise I clung to. I believed that Jesus had already paid the price for my healing, and I wasn’t going to let go of that truth.
A Breeding Ground for Miracles
Creating the right atmosphere—through what I listened to, what I spoke, and who I surrounded myself with—became a breeding ground for miracles. Faith doesn’t grow by accident; it grows when we intentionally fill ourselves with God’s Word and remove anything that weakens our belief.
If you are believing for healing today, I encourage you to take a look at your atmosphere. Are you feeding your faith or feeding your fear? Fill yourself with the Word of God, guard your words, and surround yourself with faith-filled believers. Miracles still happen, and healing is still available.
Keep pressing in—Doctor Jesus has the final say!
